February, so far...

This post is mainly a photo dump. And a Happy Birthday shout-out to my Dad! Everyone here wishes you a fabulous day - we love you!

I like pictures that aren't "perfect." Because life is surely not perfect.

Although he is screaming his brains off here, it must have exhausted him because he slept 14 hrs that night and 5.5 the next day. Emotions can wear a man out!

I will always say that THIS (see below) is how I will remember my little girl during this phase of life...paci in the mouth and lovey at the nose. 24/7.

And, even though it's been cold outside (or mild...this weather is crazy!), we still get together with our friends as often as we can. I want to try and capture more pics of mine with their little friends - they are growing up so fast, and when I see them all together, I can only envision graduations, parties, and weddings. Crazy.
DSC_2467 Dad isn't the only one with a February birthday, and I had a good one even if it means I'm only 2 yrs away from my "mid-thirties." Yikes. And because Adam would prefer I always pick out my own gifts, I honored his wish and ordered two photo books as a happy birthday to myself - the one from 2010 had been sitting in my "cart" for the last 14 months. No joke.

I have always done small, 8x8 books of births or vacations, and I did a "Kate's 1st Year" as a baby book at a whopping 12x12 (too big if you ask me!). But, a couple of years ago, I decided to do an 8.5x11 book for all of our family photos from that year. It's so much easier to store than printing out the hundreds of prints.

Each book is a nice hardback, contains hundreds of pictures, and with all of the deals and specials, only cost me about $35 per book. I wrote a few things down, but next year, if I am more on top of things, I will make more notes of special dates and events.

I use Shutterfly, but there are a ton of great sites out there. Every couple of months I move my "best of" into a folder on the website and keep them there until the end of the year when I can order the book (or for two years later when I finally bite the bullet and spend the money...). I also use those files to quickly put together calendars for the grandmothers or desk photos for the husband. Easy gifts!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
